What is StartRight?
StartRight helps new founders understand the business filings they may need before they start operating. It turns your business details into a plain-English filing-readiness checklist, and optionally a deeper risk review and launch packet.
Is the checklist really free?
Yes. The starter filing-readiness checklist is free and requires no credit card. You only pay if you choose a Launch Packet Review, Concierge Launch Plan, or Multi-Entity Compliance Map.
Do I need an account to try it?
No. You can start an intake and see a preview checklist as a guest. To save your checklist and unlock every item, create a free account — your guest checklist is attached automatically.
What if I don't know my entity type yet?
Choose "not sure yet." The checklist still generates useful guidance, and you can regenerate it later once you decide.
How it works
How is my checklist generated?
A Gemini-powered Checklist Agent reads your business profile and maps the federal, state, county, city, tax, DBA, license, employer, and ongoing-compliance items that may apply. Every item includes why it's needed, where to file, rough cost and time, and a link to find the official source.
Does StartRight file anything for me?
No. StartRight tells you what to look into and verify. You (or a professional you hire) complete the actual filings with the relevant agencies.
How accurate is it?
It's a strong first pass, but requirements vary by state, county, city, and industry, and they change over time. Always confirm current requirements with the official agency before you act. StartRight does not guarantee any list is complete.
Why does it tell me to verify everything?
Because filing rules genuinely differ by jurisdiction and change. The official-source links are there so you can confirm specifics like current fees, forms, and deadlines.

What do I get with the $49 Launch Packet Review?

What's the difference between the paid tiers?
The $49 Launch Packet Review is a focused risk review and action plan. The $149 Concierge Launch Plan adds an expanded, sequenced launch path and deeper notes. The $299 Multi-Entity Compliance Map is for founders managing multiple businesses, DBAs, locations, or entities.
How do payments work?
Payments are handled by Stripe Checkout. Your card details go directly to Stripe — StartRight never sees them. Your billing history is available in your dashboard.
How soon is my review ready?
Usually within moments of payment. It appears in your dashboard automatically, and we email you when it's ready.

Is StartRight legal, tax, or accounting advice?
No. StartRight provides business filing guidance only. It is not a substitute for a licensed attorney, CPA, or the relevant government agency. For advice specific to your situation, consult a qualified professional.
What do you do with my information?
Your business details are used to generate your checklist and reviews and to support your account. Evidence and metrics we publish are anonymized and never include your name or email.
Can I manage more than one business?
Yes. Add as many business profiles as you like from your dashboard, each with its own checklist.
How do I get help or share feedback?
Use the Feedback page in your dashboard. We read every submission, and with your permission may share it anonymously to help other founders.
